FSUE "Rosmorport", Rosmorrechflot and "Rosagroleasing" JSC have signed a cooperation agreement to ensure the development of domestic shipbuilding

FSUE "Rosmorport", Rosmorrechflot and "Rosagroleasing" JSC have signed a cooperation agreement to ensure the development of domestic shipbuilding and reduce the deficit of the merchant fleet, also for transportation of agricultural goods.

The signing ceremony of the tripartite agreement took place on October 9 within the framework of the Russian Agricultural Exhibition "Golden Autumn".  Sergey Pylin, General Director of FSUE “Rosmorport” acted as a signatory on the side of FSUE "Rosmorport", on the side of Rosmorrechflot - Andrey Tarasenko, Head of the Rosmorrechflot, and on the side of "Rosagroleasing" JSC - Pavel Kosov, General Director of "Rosagroleasing" JSC.

The agreement aims to ensure the development and sovereignty of agricultural cargo transportation by water transport, to increase the turnover of these cargoes in seaports.

The parties agreed to provide each other with consulting and methodological assistance on the use of leasing mechanisms in the implementation of investment projects in the ship construction.

The activities of FSUE "Rosmorport" are aimed at ensuring the navigation safety, increasing the competitiveness of seaports and increasing transit cargo flow through domestic ports in fulfillment of goals of the Transport Strategy of the Russian Federation until 2030.

FSUE "Rosmorport" owns the world's largest fleet of service and auxiliary vessels, which continues to be continuously replenished with modern vessels. In 2024, the Nikolay Rusanov high-performance dredger was commissioned to perform dredging on the Volga-Caspian Sea Shipping Canal – it is the lead vessel of a series of three dredgers designed for the development of the VCSSC. Two more dredgers of this project and three support vessels, which are also designed to carry out work on the canal, are under construction.

This year, the fleet of the enterprise has been replenished by bilge water removing ships Koporye and Koppi for work in Ust-Luga and Vanino, respectively. The third bilge water removing ship of the same project is being built at Okskaya Shipyard JSC. By order of the enterprise, two oil garbage collectors-boom pitter vessels are being built at the Onega Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Plant and will replenish the enterprise's fleet by the end of 2026, and three harbour tugs with Arc4 ice class. It is expected that the lead tug of the series will be transferred to FSUE "Rosmorport" in 2025, and two other vessels in 2026.

FSUE "Rosmorport" focuses on the development of its own icebreaker fleet, the largest in the world. In 2023, two new-generation shallow-draft icebreakers of the 22740M project - Russia's most powerful icebreakers with shallow draft (3.2 m) - were laid at the Onega Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Plant under the order of the enterprise. The keel of the 18 MW icebreaker of the Icebreaker7 ice class was laid at the Vyborg Shipyard in 2022. A domestic set of propulsion system equipment will be used in the construction of the new icebreaker.
