Khersones sailing ship of FSUE "Rosmorport" took part in the VII Big Sevastopol Officer Ball

Sailing frigate Khersones of FSUE "Rosmorport" took part in the VII Big Sevastopol Officer Ball. FSUE "Rosporport" was the title sponsor of the event.

Sailing frigate Khersones stood at floating anchors in the water area of Sevastopol Bay opposite the Mikhailovskaya coastal battery – the site where the ball was held.

This year, the ball was named "Victory!" in honor of the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. It was also dedicated to the 180th anniversary of the birth of composer P.I. Tchaikovsky.

The ball gathered 200 officer and civilian couples from all over Russia, there were 800 guests in total.

Note

The Big Sevastopol Officer Ball was organized by the city community "Sevastopol Noble Assembly" in association with the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation and the support of the Government of Sevastopol. The ball is held annually due to the unification of efforts and resources of its organizers, participants, citizens, philanthropists, representatives of business and state structures. For the first time the ball was held on June 2, 2013.

As a part of the charity ball program, funds were raised in order to help 14-year-old artist Angelina Usenko and 9-year-old violinist Varvara Pronina, as well as the ensemble "Nadezhda" ("Hope"), which includes, among others, persons born in time of war.
