FSUE “Rosmorport” invests more than 1 bln rubles in the upgrade of the navigational and hydrographic support in seaports and on the approaches in 2011–2015
Particularly, the enterprise will continue the upgrading of navigation aids functioning in Russian ports and the installation of new navigation aids with enhanced precision characteristics, low power consumption and high reliable performance. An additional point is that FSUE “Rosmorport” starts to upgrade pilot boats. Thus, vessel construction for the FSUE “Rosmorport” Arkhangelsk, Kaliningrad and Saint-Petersburg branches is planned to be completed in the year 2011 and 4 additional pilot boats are planned to be constructed by 2015.
In response to a Vice-Premier Sergey Ivanov`s question about profitability of pilot activity in the Russian Federation, the Executive director of FSUE “Rosmorport” said: “Pilot activity in Russia as a whole, excluding High North ports or ports with large amount of small-displacement vessel calls, is a profitable business. But only if it’s managed by the single provider”.
Sergey Ivanov, the Chairman of the Marine Board at the Government of the Russian Federation highly appreciated the work of FSUE “Rosmorport” in the field of navigational and hydrographic support in seaports and on the approaches.
