International exercises on maritime search and rescue and oil spills liquidation in Baltic Sea

On July, 27th, 2010 in the seaport of Kaliningrad international exercises on maritime search and rescue and oil spills liquidation in Baltic Sea were held.

6 ships, 2 high-speed motor boats and MI-8 helicopter were involved in the exercises from the Russian part, as well as 2 rescue vessels and a helicopter from Poland and one Lithuanian ship.

The purposes of the exercises were rescue and oil spills liquidation actions practicing according to basin plan of people search and rescue in the search and rescue area of the rescue coordination center in the seaport of Kaliningrad.

During the exercises the FSUE “Rosmorport” Kaliningrad branch provided the radio communication between the rescue coordination center of FSE “Administration of the Seaport of Kaliningrad” and vessels and helicopters participating in the exercises.

The organizers noticed the successful results of the exercises as all the objectives were fully completed.
