Zakhary Tengizovich Dzhioev, Former Head of Rosmorrechflot, has passed away
On August 30, 2024, Zakhary Tengizovich Dzhioev, the former Head of Federal Agency for Marine and River Transport (Rosmorrechflot), died at the age of 47 following a long illness.
Zakhary Dzhioev devoted most of his work life to Rosmorrechflot, rising from deputy head of the department to head of the agency.
Over the years of service in leadership positions, Zakhary Dzhioev has proven himself to be a highly professional manager, deeply understanding the specifics of the water transport industry, thinking strategically, aiming to achieve clear results, and demanding a lot from himself and his subordinates.
As deputy head and head of Rosmorrechflot, Zakhary Dzhioev took part in the implementation of strategically important projects, such as ensuring the operation of the Kerch ferry line in Crimea, regular ferry service with the Kaliningrad region after European countries introduced sanctions on the transportation of a number of goods by land.
Ambitious dredging at the Volga-Caspian Sea Shipping Canal as part of the development of the North-South international transport corridor was also held under the leadership of the former head of Rosmorrechflot, and so was the construction of the Bagaevsky and Gorodetsky hydroelectric complexes in order to increase the capacity of inland waterways.
Zakhary Dzhioev regarded the achievement of the tasks set before the federal agency with great responsibility, attention and dedication, entering into details, diplomatically and effectively organizing interdepartmental negotiations.
For outstanding achievements in the transport industry, Zakhary Dzhioev was repeatedly awarded state awards and notes of acknowledgement. In particular, he was twice awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal, as well as the Medal for the Construction of the Crimean Bridge.
The team of FSUE “Rosmorport” deeply grieves and expresses sincere condolences to the family and friends of Zakhary Tengizovich. The date and place of the farewell ceremony to be announced.
