Employees of FSUE “Rosmorport” hold a demo lesson at the Academy of Water Transport

On March 22, employees of FSUE “Rosmorport” held a demo lesson for students and faculty and academic staff of the Academy of Water Transport of the Russian University of Transport (RUT).

Elena Dayeva, Head of the Scientific and Engineering Group of the Department of Project Activities and Investments, and Roman Tatarinov, Deputy Head of the Production and Technical Division of the Department of Capital Construction and Repair, told the students and teachers of the leading university of transport about the activities of the enterprise - the largest employer in the maritime transportation industry. Andrey Guzenko, Director of the Academy of Water Transport of RUT, also addressed the participants of the event.

During her lecture, Elena Dayeva emphasized that one of the key tasks of FSUE “Rosmorport” was the efficient operation, maintenance and development of federal property assigned to the enterprise in Russian seaports. FSUE “Rosmorport” has implemented such major infrastructure projects as construction of federal property facilities in the seaport of Sabetta, an approach canal to the water area of the seaport Passenger Port of Saint Petersburg, an approach canal and water area of the Bronka multifunctional sea transshipment complex in the seaport Big Port of Saint Petersburg, construction of an international center for marine passenger and cruise transportation in the seaport of Sochi.

The head of the scientific and engineering group told the students about the main requirements for the design and construction of port infrastructure facilities, specifics of their operation, emphasizing the work of the enterprise aimed at standardization of these activities.

“Today, the enterprise pays much attention to internal local acts. The enterprise’s standard on information modeling, regulations on tenants' control over the implementation of repairs have been put into effect, and a procurement is being prepared to update the enterprise's standard on scheduled preventive maintenance,” Elena Dayeva said.

She also pointed out to the students the need to study the regulatory framework for the construction of port infrastructure facilities, having analyzed specific practical cases, and recommended to join free online seminars of FAI “Glavgosexpertiza of Russia” in order to study current issues and challenges in the field of port infrastructure facilities construction.

Roman Tatarinov spoke about the requirements for engineers and technicians in transportation construction, specifically in construction of port infrastructure. As an example of a technically complex facility, he reviewed the ongoing project for reconstruction of the facilities of the Vanino-Holmsk ferry crossing in the federal seaport of Vanino, the largest one in Khabarovsk Krai and the second largest one for cargo turnover in Russia's Far Eastern basin. The ferry has been in operation since 1973 and currently requires modernization and reconstruction. In 2024, FSUE “Rosmorport” signed a contract to perform works on the development of design documentation and construction and installation works on this facility.

The university administration notes that such events are useful first of all for future graduates to understand the practical aspects of the profession, and for teachers to improve the effectiveness of teaching professional disciplines.

FSUE “Rosmorport” maintains partnership relations with RUT and on a regular basis participates in the events of the country's oldest university of transport, including presenting its career opportunities for future job seekers. At present, over 600 specialists under the age of 30 and over 1,600 specialists aged 30 to 39 work at FSUE “Rosmorport”.
