Navigation practice of the last shift of cadets in 2023 was completed on the Khersones sailing training vessel of FSUE “Rosmorport”.

This year, four shifts of students – 405 cadets from 7 educational institutions – Volga State University of Water Transport, Kherson State Maritime Academy, Kerch State Maritime Technological University, Marine Engineering College of Kerch State Marine Technological University, Murmansk Sea Fishing College Named After I.I.Mesjatsev, Admiral Ushakov Maritime State University and its branch – Sedov Water Transport Institute – successfully practiced on board of the sailing vessel. In total, the practice lasted 9 months.

During this time, the Khersones STV has been making calls to the seaports of Sevastopol, Novorossiysk, Tuapse and Sochi, has covered more than 3,750 nautical miles.

The cadets had shown a high level of training during the sailing practice. They worked out their theoretical knowledge and mastered new professional skills necessary for further work in maritime specialties.

From December 2023 to March 2024, the Khersones STV is planned to be moored in the seaport of Sevastopol. During this time the inter-navigation repairs and preparations for navigation in 2024 will be carried out.
