FSUE “Rosmorport” supports the Green Russia All-Russian voluntary clean-up and the Victory Forest campaign

Regional branches of FSUE “Rosmorport” took part in the All-Russian voluntary clean-up action “Green Russia”, which is held annually on the initiative of the Zelyonaya Rossiya (“Green Russia”) Russian National Environmental Social Movement and city administrations, as well as in the ecological and patriotic campaign “Victory Forest”, held as part of the All-Russian voluntary clean-up.

The employees of the branches participated in the planting of trees and shrubs in memory of those who died during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, as well as in the improvement of branch facilities and sanitary cleaning of adjacent territories.

Employees of the Arkhangelsk Branch held a clean-up and planting of 10 seedlings of blue spruce on the territory allocated by the administration of the city district “City of Arkhangelsk” in the mini-garden at the intersection of Voskresenskaya Street and Timme Street. 8 lime trees and 15 birches were planted in the mini-garden near the Astrakhan Branch building as part of the campaign. Employees of the Azovo-Chernomorsky Basin Branch also held a clean-up on the territory adjacent to the administrative building in Novorossiysk, planting 2 maples, a rhododendron and a birch.

The Far Eastern Basin Branch, participating in the environmental project, planted 12 Japanese rhododendron bushes on the territory of a radar post at Cape Goldobin in Vladivostok and seaside endemics around the memorial sign – the Admiralty anchor, which is located on the territory of the branch.

Employees of the Crimean Branch also joined the action and planted seedlings of silver loch, cherry and plum. The Murmansk Branch planted 40 bushes of frost-resistant rosehip and 15 rowan seedlings on one of the alleys of the hero city of Murmansk.

The staff of the Sakhalin Branch, with the support of the administration of the Korsakov City District, planted an alley of 10 rowan trees in the A.I. Severov mini-garden; also, a memorial plaque dedicated to all those who fell during the Great Patriotic War was made and installed there. Employees of the North-Eastern Basin Branch planted 10 seedlings of blue spruce on the territory near the administrative building of the branch in the village of Vanino, Khabarovsk Territory.

The North-Western Basin Branch held events in all three of its departments. Thus, in the Kaliningrad Department, the planting of seedlings took place at two facilities. 6 pine seedlings, 4 thuja and 10 boxwood bushes were planted on the territory of radar post No. 1 on the Baltic Spit. 6 pines and 4 firs were planted on the territory of the receiving radar center in the village of Bolshoe Isakovo. Employees of the Vyborg-Vysotsk Department planted 3 thuja in the area of the pilotage station in Vysotsk, Vyborg district, Leningrad Region. The staff of the Ust-Luga Department of the branch planted an alley of 7 oak trees on the territory of the automobile and railway ferry complex in the seaport of Ust-Luga. A memorial plaque dedicated to the victims of the Great Patriotic War was also made and installed at the place of tree planting.

The Zelyonaya Rossiya (“Green Russia”) Russian National Environmental Social Movement annually organizes a voluntary clean-up day aimed at ecological and patriotic education and uniting of citizens with a common idea of nature conservation. As part of the campaign “Victory Forest”, trees and shrubs are being planted in different regions of Russia in memory of the 27 million people who died during the Great Patriotic War. Since 2013, more than 18 million people from 85 regions of the Russian Federation have taken part in the events, millions of trees have been planted. In 2023, the main events of the “green” clean-up took place throughout the country from September 2 to September 30.
