The Engineer Popov self-propelled diesel-electric dredger with hydraulic baking powder has started work on the designated section of the Volga-Caspian Sea Shipping Canal (VCSSC) to maintain the necessary depths. The vessel became the 17th dredger of the dredging group at VCSSC under the management of FSUE “Rosmorport”.

Unprecedented dredging operations on the 188-kilometer canal are carrying out by 7 units of the FSUE “Rosmorport” dredging fleet and 10 vessels engaged by the enterprise. FSUE “Rosmorport” plans to continue increasing the number of vessels involved in the repair dredging on the VCSSC.

Dredging operations at the strategically important facility are carrying out around the clock under favorable weather conditions. FSUE “Rosmorport” implements comprehensive measures for the development of the VCSSC as part of the global task of ensuring the effective operation of the international North-South transport corridor, set for transport workers by the head of state, according to the schedule.
