The “ROSMORPORT – 20 years in the right direction!” campaign was held on Sakhalin

Employees of the FSUE “Rosmorport” Sakhalin Branch joined the anniversary campaign “ROSMORPORT – 20 years in the right direction!”. The event was held in the relay race format. The participants transferred flag with the anniversary symbols of FSUE “Rosmorport” at a distance of “water – air – ground”.

15 people divided into three groups attended the campaign. During the day, they passed the relay race in branded equipment of the enterprise. During the event, Director of the Sakhalin Branch Alexander Shraitel and Chief Engineer Evgeny Savitsky gave parting words to the team.

At the first “water” stage of the relay, Alexander Shraitel delivered the anniversary flag from the FSUE “Rosmorport” administrative building to the pier of the Korsakov seaport and handed it over to the captain of the Dobrynya tugboat. The tugboat with the flag solemnly passed through the water area of the port.

The second stage of the route was in the air. The captain of the Dobrynya tugboat handed the flag to an employee of the Sakhalin Branch, who flew a paraglider with the flag in his hands. The flight took off from the site of the village of Nechayevka in the Korsakov District and passed over the coast of Aniva Bay, after which the paraglider landed in a glade at the foot of the legendary Yunona mountain.

The last stage of the relay race was the “earth”. The flag was given to the employees of the Sakhalin Branch, who climbed Yunona mountain and placed the flag on its top. The mountain is located on a massif, which is a separate short-lived ridge, east of the Prigorodniy village of Korsakov District, approximately 15 km east of the town of Korsakov.

A memorial cross was installed on Yunona mountain in honor of the 370th anniversary of the Sakhalin Island discovery and the 160th anniversary of the raising of the Russian flag on Sakhalin by Russian navigators. The mountain got its name in honor of the Russian brig of the same name. In 1806, Russian diplomat and traveler Nikolai Rezanov came up with a project to develop Sakhalin, for which he equipped two vessels: Yunona and Avos. The dramatic story of the pioneer's life is reflected in the famous Soviet rock opera “Yunona and Avos” by Alexei Rybnikov and Andrei Voznesensky, directed by Mark Zakharov.

The“ROSMORPORT - 20 years in the right direction!” campaign is intended to show the high importance of the enterprise in the development of the maritime industry of the country, as well as to demonstrate the beauty and richness of Russia's tourist routes. The Makhachkala and Arkhangelsk Branches, Azovo-Chernomorsky and North-Eastern Basin Branches took part in it earlier.
