Employees of the FSUE “Rosmorport” Azovo-Chernomorsky Basin Branch, following their colleagues from the Makhachkala Branch, took part in the campaign “ROSMORPORT – 20 years in the right direction!” and installed a flag on one of the highest peaks on the slope of Sugar Loaf Mountain. The mountain is the highest point of the Markoth Ridge around Novorossiysk.

On August 12, the Physical Culture Day, a group of employees departed on mountain bikes in branded equipment from the branch's administrative building in Novorossiysk. The participants of the event rode along the Tsemesskaya Bay embankment and climbed Sugar Loaf Mountain.

On one of the peaks on the slope of Sugar Loaf Mountain, Novorossiysk residents installed the flag of the Russian Federation and the flag with the anniversary symbols of FSUE “Rosmorport”. From that point, the participants had a mesmerizing panorama of the city, the seaport and the quarries of the cement plant. Among the participants of the flag-raising, there were not only the employees of the Azovo-Chernomorsky Basin Branch, but also their family members.

In total, the group has overcome 30 km on mountain bikes despite the 35-degree heat and climbed to an altitude of 280 m above sea level. During the last and the most difficult part of the way to the flag-installation place, the participants had to carry their two-wheeled vehicles on themselves. Photos and video were taken throughout the event - employees captured their arrival and the installation of the flags.

Sugar Loaf Mountain is a part of the Markoth Ridge and is the highest mountain around Novorossiysk. The name of the mountain peak comes from its conical shape which resembles the measure of weight and packaging for selling loaf sugar in pre-revolutionary Russia.

Sugar Loaf Mountain is a landmark of the Great Patriotic War history significant for the citizens of Novorossiysk. The front line used to lie here, and fierce battles to conquer the top of the mountain took place at its foot.

The “ROSMORPORT – 20 years in the right direction!” campaign is held in the year of the enterprise’s anniversary in various regions of the country where its branches operate. The first event of the campaign was held in Dagestan.

The campaign allows to show the large-scale geography of the activity of the largest title holder of coastal and port infrastructure facilities and service and auxiliary fleet - from Kaliningrad to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, as well as to remind about the beauty, scale and grandeur of natural sights of our Motherland, located near the key seaports of the country, and its huge recreational capacity.
