FSUE "Rosmorport" continues to support projects for the study and preservation of the Amur tiger

FSUE “Rosmorport” and the Amur Tiger Center have agreed to continue cooperation aimed at financing the Center's projects for the study and conservation of the rare predator population.

This year, the enterprise helped to purchase an all-terrain vehicle Vepr V5 for the Protection, Control and Regulation of the Wildlife Objects Usage Department of Primorsky Region and deliver it to Ussuriysk. The vehicle has already been handed over to the Department for use during anti-poaching raids.

The cooperation of the organizations began in 2022, in the year of the Tiger. Then, at the expense of FSUE “Rosmorport”, the Center purchased two Niva cars, Taiga all-terrain vehicle and an engine for Buran snowmobile, as well as spare and wear parts for official transport for the Protection, Control and Regulation of theWildlife Objects Usage Department of Primorsky Region. With the assistance of FSUE “Rosmorport”, a gasoline generator was purchased and installed on the territory of a remote tourist shelter for the Bikin National Park – the largest specially protected natural area in the Amur tiger area.

Within the framework of scientific and educational activities last year, FSUE “Rosmorport” also acted as a partner of the Amur Tiger Center during the “Model UN in the Far Eas”" conference, where the topics of climate change and sustainable development were discussed.

For reference:

The Amur tiger is one of the rarest subspecies of the tiger, the largest and the only one adapted to life in harsh winter conditions. It is included in the Red Book of the Russian Federation and in the International Red Book. More than 600 individuals of these predators live in the wild nature of Russia.

The Amur Tiger Center is an organization created in 2013 by the Russian Geographical Society on the initiative of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. The objectives of the Center are to study, preserve and increase the Amur tiger population in Russia. The Center operates without budget funding, solely due to the sponsorship of organizations and individuals.
