Kapitan Khlebnikov and Magadan icebreakers returned to the seaport of Vladivostok after the end of the icebreaking period in the seaport of Vanino

Kapitan Khlebnikov and Magadan icebreakers of FSUE "Rosmorport" after the end of the period of icebreaking in the waters of the seaport of Vanino and on the approaches to it returned to the seaport of registration Vladivostok.

In total, during the period of ice navigation, the enterprise's icebreakers provided pilotage for more than 280 vessels going to the seaport of Vanino and from it through the Tatar Strait.

This year, ice navigation in the seaport of Vanino was carried out in difficult climatic conditions. Abnormally low temperatures in the region contributed to intense ice formation. Аs a result, the length of the ice field from the seaport of Vanino to the south to the edge of the ice reached up to 70 nautical miles. According to the orders of the captain of the seaport of Vanino, restrictions on the entry and exit of vessels were introduced for vessels with the Arc4 ice class.

The Magadan icebreaker began duty at the seaport of Vanino on January 15, and the Kapitan Khlebnikov icebreaker began providing services in February in accordance with the Icebreaker Placement Plan for the period of icebreaking vessels 2022-2023 in freezing ports of the Russian Federation, approved by Rosmorrechflot. The end of the icebreaking period in the seaport of Vanino has been announced by the port captain since April 4 due to the release of the seaport water area from ice and further favorable weather forecast.
