The Heads of Rosmorrechflot and FSUE “Rosmorport” pay a working visit to Kaliningrad
The Head of Rosmorrechflot, Zakhary Dzhioev, inspected the construction site of the International Sea Terminal for the reception of cruise and passenger ships in Pionersky, the customer of which is FSUE “Rosmorport”. During the visit, the Head of Rosmorrechflot held a working meeting and set the task to reduce the construction time of facilities.
The inspection of the construction site was attended by FSUE “Rosmorport” delegation headed by Director General Sergey Pylin and representatives of contracting organizations.
Within the framework of the Contract signed by the enterprise in September, 2022 with the General Contractor Geoisol LLC, the construction of a passenger terminal building, an antenna-mast structure, a storm sewer is being carried out in Pionersky, as well as measures to ensure transport security at the facility are being carried out.
The implementation of the project will contribute to increasing the attractiveness of the region for domestic and foreign tourism. Upon completion of the works, the terminal will be able to receive about 250 thousand passengers per year. In addition, due to the restrictions imposed by the EU countries on the Kaliningrad region, as well as the lack of direct communication with the rest of Russia, the construction of the terminal will contribute to ensuring the transport accessibility of the region.
Within the framework of the project, facilities will be created to ensure the handling of cargo and passenger vessels in the amount of up to 3 million tons per year. Currently, the marine terminal is planned to be connected by permanent lines with seaports in the Leningrad region.
After visiting the facility, Zakhary Dzhioev and Sergey Pylin took part in a meeting with the Governor of the Kaliningrad region Anton Alikhanov on transport accessibility of the region. It was noted that direct communication of the Kaliningrad region with the mainland part of the country with the help of the domestic maritime transport fleet is an absolute priority for federal agencies. Representatives of the Ministry of Transport of Russia and Rosmorrechflot actively participate in the work of the operational headquarters on these issues.
The parties discussed the possibility of increasing the carrying capacity for rolling equipment, in particular, the option of transporting not road trains, but only trailers, which will allow additional transportation of up to 150 cars per month.
Within the framework of finalizing the draft decree of the Russian Government on subsidizing ferry transportation to and from the Kaliningrad region, working edits have been agreed regarding the unification of tariff rates. This will simplify the procedure and increase the efficiency of the subsidy system for all operators operating on ferry lines. At the moment, interdepartmental work is continuing at the federal level to amend and prepare a new resolution.
Following the meeting, it was decided to continue operational cooperation between the Government of the Kaliningrad region and Rosmorrechflot.
