Sparta II becomes the fourth vessel chartered by FSUE “Rosmorport” on the Seaport of Ust-Luga – Seaport of Kaliningrad line

The Sparta II multifunctional vessel, chartered by FSUE “Rosmorport”, which arrived at the seaport of Kaliningrad, was put to the Seaport of Ust-Luga – Seaport of Kaliningrad sea line. Sparta II became the fourth vessel on the Seaport of Ust-Luga – Seaport of Kaliningrad line under the operational management of the enterprise.

On November 1, 2022, the vessel left the seaport of Kaliningrad for its first cargo voyage, taking on board 26 units of rolling equipment for delivering to the seaport of Ust-Luga.

Sparta II vessel, as well as the Sparta vessel already operating on the line, is a multifunctional vessel with horizontal and vertical loading and unloading methods. It is intended for transportation of rolling equipment, trailers and semi-trailers, goods in containers, as well as general cargo. The vessel has two lower holds with a total cargo deck length of 70.7 m and a width of 15.6 m, a twin deck with a length of 109.3 m and a width of 15.2 m and one open upper deck with a length of 96.2 m and a width of 15.6 m.

Loaded containers up to 213 TEU or empty containers up to 783 TEU can be transported in the cargo areas of the vessel. It is possible to connect 40 refrigerated containers on board the vessel. In addition, the vessel can carry up to 20 units of standard road trains up to 17 m long.

Therefore, there are two automobile and railway sea ferries, Marshal Rokossovsky and General Chernyakhovsky, and two multifunctional vessels, Sparta and Sparta II, operating on the Seaport of Ust-Luga – Seaport of Kaliningrad sea line under the operational management of the enterprise.

For 10 months of 2022, more than 1.6 million tons of cargo were transported by sea vessels under the management of the enterprise on this sea line, including more than 6.1 thousand TEU, more than 10.8 thousand units of automotive and other rolling equipment and 6.3 thousand tons of general cargo.
