FSUE “Rosmorport” joins the Victory Forest environmental campaign

The FSUE “Rosmorport” branches took part in the environmental and patriotic campaign called “Victory Forest”, organized by the Zelyonaya Rossiya (“Green Russia”) Russian National Environmental Social Movement. Every year, as part of the campaign, trees and bushes are planted throughout Russia in memory of 27 million victims of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.

The employees of the Astrakhan Branch of the enterprise made a significant contribution to the greening of the urban environment by planting 40 birch trees and 30 rose bushes. The employees of the Murmansk Branch, in coordination with the Murmansk City Administration, planted bird cherry trees and Hungarian lilac bushes in the park near Lake Ledovoe.

Seedlings of rhododendron and common ninebark were planted in the territories of the FSUE “Rosmorport” Far Eastern Basin Branch adjacent to the administrative buildings, while photinia and spindle trees will bloom in the territory of the Azovo-Chernomorsky Basin Branch in memory of those who died in the Great Patriotic War.

The FSUE “Rosmorport” Azov Basin Branch will soon plant maples and linden trees in the territory of the Lotsmeistersky Post, and employees of the Vanino Branch are going to plant blue spruces next to their office building.

The Victory Forest campaign has been organized since 2013 as part of the Zelyonaya Rossiya (“Green Russia”) annual All–Russian clean-up event, aimed at uniting citizens of our country with a shared idea of caring for nature, environmental and patriotic education of the population. Over this period, more than 18 million people have joined the clean-up events, and millions of trees were planted in 85 regions of the Russian Federation as part of the Victory Forest campaign.
