The Seaport of Ust-Luga – Seaport of Kaliningrad sea line registered

The Federal Agency of Maritime and River Transport of Russia (Rosmorrechflot) has registered a new sea line Seaport of Ust-Luga – Seaport of Kaliningrad pursuant to the appeal from FSUE "Rosmorport" in accordance with Russian Ministry of Transport Order No. 356 dated October 22, 2021.

The main seaports for port calls on the ferry line are Kaliningrad and Ust-Luga. Optional seaports are the Big Port of Saint Petersburg and Sassnitz (Germany).

FSUE "Rosmorport", being the operator of the sea line, uses two sea vessels on it: the Marshal Rokossovsky railway ferry and the URSA MAJOR multifunctional vessel. In September 2022, the General Chernyakhovsky railway ferry is planned to be additionally put on the line after the final acceptance of the vessel.

The enterprise’s agents for the registration of documents for carriage of freights and passengers by sea, as well as for the organization of the transportation process on the ferry line are Oboronlogistika LLC – for the carriage of railroad cars, and TBK LLC – for the carriage of rolling cargo, general cargo and passengers.

The Marshal Rokossovsky railway ferry has been operating on the line connecting the seaports of Ust-Luga and Kaliningrad since March 4, 2022. During this time, it has made 50 voyages and carried more than 270.4 thousand tons of cargo, including 3,362 railroad cars, 1,383 units of rolling cargo.

The URSA MAJOR multifunctional vessel has been operating on the line since April 21, 2022. The vessel has made 31 voyages and delivered more than 38.9 thousand tons of cargo, including 992 units of rolling cargo and 1,880 twenty-foot containers.
