The photo exhibition of FSUE “Rosmorport” opened on Nikitsky Boulevard for the Day of workers of the sea and river fleet

A photo exhibition of FSUE “Rosmorport”, dedicated to the Day of workers of the sea and river fleet, has opened in Moscow on Nikitsky Boulevard.

The exposition is aimed at raising awareness among residents of Moscow and guests of the capital about the importance of the maritime industry for the country's economy and the lives of citizens, as well as at popularizing maritime professions among the younger generation.

The event is open to the public and will last until July 17, 2022. The exhibition tells about the activities of FSUE “Rosmorport”. The company manages the port infrastructure and ensures the safety of navigation in 59 seaports out of 61, and owns 266 vessels of various types and capacities. The subject of special pride of FSUE “Rosmorport” is the world's largest diesel-electric icebreaker fleet – in total, the company operates 36 icebreakers and icebreaker tugs.

In the center of the exposition is the flagship of the fleet of FSUE “Rosmorport” – the Viktor Chernomyrdin icebreaker. This is the largest non–nuclear icebreaker in the world - its power on propellers is 25 MW. The vessel has an Icebreaker8 ice class and is capable of reaching speeds of up to 17.8 knots in clear water.

In 2022, the Viktor Chernomyrdin icebreaker entered the Arctic for the first time for ice tests, during which it confirmed that it was able to move continuously in a continuous ice field with a thickness of up to 2 m, as well as perform icebreaking operations with an ice thickness of up to 3 m.

The vessel carries out piloting in the waters of the Gulf of Finland, and can also carry out operations in the Arctic and Antarctic.

Earlier this year, the innovative dual-fuel ferry Marshal Rokossovsky with ice reinforcement, built by order of FSUE “Rosmorport”, entered the Ust–Luga - Baltiysk line. The ferry connects the Kaliningrad and Leningrad regions and provides cargo delivery between the regions.

The new "green" ferry is designed to transport railway trains, as well as car trailers and passenger cars. The speed of loading onto the vessel has increased by at least 3 times compared to other ferries operating on the line. The launch of the ferry allowed not only to increase the efficiency of the ferry complex, but also to ensure transport safety on the line that is strategically important for Russia.

In the autumn of 2022, the fleet engaged at the Ust-Luga – Baltiysk ferry line will be replenished with another vessel of similar characteristics, built by order of FSUE ”Rosmorport”, the General Chernyakhovsky ferry.

You can learn more about the modern vessels of FSUE “Rosmorport” and other innovations that are being implemented at the enterprise, as well as see unique footage from the Arctic expedition of the world's largest diesel-electric icebreaker at the photo exhibition.

FSUE “Rosmorport” thanks the Moscow Directorate of Mass Events for their assistance in organizing the exhibition.
