Vladivostok holds exhibition timed to the 30th anniversary of the Nadezhda sailing boat

On June 10, 2022, representatives of the FSUE “Rosmorport” Far Eastern Basin Branch took part in the opening of the exhibition called “Our Life Guide”, dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Nadezhda (Hope) sailing training boat, which was held in the Primorye State Art Gallery in Vladivostok.

The exhibition has works of students of the Primorye Regional Art College and the Far Eastern State Institute of Arts, who took part in the plein-air painting on board of the sailboat in summer 2021, as well as recognized artists. The exhibition will last till July 10, 2022.

Vitaly Gorbunov, Deputy Director for Operations of the Far Eastern Basin Branch, expressed his gratitude to the Primorye State Art Gallery for showing attention to the Nadezhda sailboat and organizing the exhibition on the occasion of the vessel's anniversary. During his speech, he emphasized that that since 2014, the Far Eastern Basin Branch has been taking care of the sailboat and has been responsible for its proper maintenance so that students of Russian maritime educational institutions could pass their navigation practice on board of the frigate.

Andrey Brik, Chairman of the Vladivostok Duma, presented Alexander Tsimbal, the captain's education and training assistant, with a certificate of gratitude for the impeccable training and educating of cadets.

For reference:

The Nadezhda sailing training boat is a training three-mast frigate (vessel with full sailing rigging). It was constructed in 1991.

The state flag of the Russian Federation was raised on the stern flagstaff of the Nadezhda on June 5, 1992. After the solemn ceremony, the sailboat went on its first cruise to Vladivostok, its home port. Since then, it has served for the purpose of educating new generations of seamen, being the hallmark of Vladivostok, the Russian outpost overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
