FSUE “Rosmorport” participates in the Digital Industry of Industrial Russia conference

Sergey Simonov, Deputy General Director of FSUE “Rosmorport”, made a speech at the round table called Organization of Efficient and Safe Switching to Russian Software, which took place at the Digital Industry of Industrial Russia conference (CIPR).

Switching of production activities of FSUE “Rosmorport” to Russian technologies is a comprehensive set of projects, Sergey Simonov noted.

"Our enterprise has a rather large and high-tech platform to carry out its production activities. It includes the world’s largest ice-breaking fleet equipped with marine automation and navigation systems, the development of vessel traffic control systems, the network of data processing centers, and other objects", Sergey Simonov emphasized.

As part of the transition to Russian IT technologies, the enterprise is working in the following areas: mass introduction of Russian radar equipment in the vessel traffic control systems (VTS), supply of vessels with Russian marine automation and navigation equipment, as well as import phase-out of the IT equipment and software.

As for information protection, FSUE “Rosmorport” has initially focused its infrastructure on the use of domestic solutions.

While projects on import phase-out of IT equipment and software have been successfully launched at the enterprise, the issue of introducing Russian competitive radar equipment is still under consideration.

"The planning horizon is five years or more to meet this challenge. It is necessary to get support from the enterprises of the radio and electronic industry, producing radar equipment, as well as from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media, and the Ministry of Transport of Russia", Sergey Simonov said in conclusion.

After the speeches there was a discussion on the topics related to the specifics of switching to the Russian software.

Sergey Simonov also took part in the main plenary session called “Development of Russian Software. Support Measures for Manufacturers and Market Incentives." The event was attended by Mikhail Mishustin, Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, and Dmitry Chernyshenko, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation.
