New vessel starts service on the Ust-Luga – Baltiysk line

Starting from April 21, 2022, in addition to the three already operating ferries, the URSA MAJOR motor vessel, a Ro-Ro/Lo-Lo class dry-cargo carrier (horizontal and vertical loading), begins service on the route between Ust-Luga and Baltiysk.

The vessel is designed for transportation of cargo of various classes: rolling cargo, general cargo, including outsize loads.

The first voyage from Baltiysk (the seaport of Kaliningrad) is scheduled for April 21, the one from Ust-Luga is scheduled for April 24. According to the schedule, the vessel is supposed to have at least on call a week to each of the seaports.

Organizations and enterprises interested in transporting cargo should send a preliminary application form by e-mail: mail@kld.rosmorport.ru. Business terms of the line operation will be posted on the enterprise’s website in due course.

At the end of the year one more railway ferry, the General Chernyakhovsky, is planned to start service on the line.

For three and a half months, more than 365 thousand tons of cargo have been transported on the Ust-Luga – Baltiysk ferry line, including 4,225 cars and 2,182 rolling equipment units.
