Hydraulic Engineering Structures and Dredging congress summarized

The V Hydraulic Engineering Structures and Dredging Congress where FSUE “Rosmorport” acted as the general partner has come to an end.

The need to increase the amount of dredging and the size of the technical fleet, as well as issues of dredging finance, were among the key issues raised by economical players during the congress.

The port and river infrastructure in Russia continues to develop rapidly, with a lot of both capital and repair dredging and hydraulic engineering works lying ahead. The largest amount of work is expected in the ports of the Baltic and Far Eastern basins, as well as in the Arctic. Therefore, it is planned to actively build a new dredging and technical fleet and transfer foreign fleet under the Russian flag.

Elena Daeva, deputy head of the production and technical section of the Capital Construction and Repair Department of FSUE “Rosmorport”, spoke about the operation and repair of the enterprise’s hydraulic structures in 2021 and plans for the future on the second day of the congress.

The property complex of the enterprise consists of 744 surface hydraulic structures, 78.2 % (582) of which are berthing facilities with a total length of about 92.6 km. Due to the systematic and well-coordinated work of the enterprise and the hydraulic structures lessees, the average physical deterioration of the FSUE “Rosmorport” berthing facilities at the end of 2021 amounted to about 21 % in comparison with 22.7 % in 2020.

In 2021, 50 non-leased hydraulic structures were repaired by the enterprise, for 6 facilities the design of a major overhaul was finished. Besides, 37 facilities were surveyed last year, which is 100 % of the plan.

All work on the operation of the port hydraulic structures under the FSUE “Rosmorport” economic administration is strictly regulated. The enterprise also develops its own standards. Thus, FSUE “Rosmorport” and Tazmar LLC concluded an agreement for the development of an information modeling standard of the enterprise. In the near future, this will allow to implement information modeling of buildings and structures into the enterprise’s activities.
