The lead crab catcher vessel was launched at the Onego Shipyard

On January 27, 2022, at the Onego Shipyard in Petrozavodsk, the Kapitan Aleksandrov crab vessel was launched - the lead vessel of the CCa 5712LS project series, which the plant is building by order of the “Russian Crab” - the largest crab harvesting company in the Far East.

The construction is being carried out as part of the keel quota program aimed at updating the domestic fishing fleet and increasing the efficiency of developing valuable national biological resources.

The launched lead crab vessel was named after the sea captain Georgy Ivanovich Aleksandrov (1882–1939), whose name is associated with the formation and development of the Far Eastern fishing fleet.

The vessel of the project СCa 5712LS is designed for harvesting and transporting live crab. Its technical equipment will make it possible to double the volume of transported live products, increase their safety indicators, and improve the seaworthiness necessary for working in difficult weather conditions in the basins of the Okhotsk and Bering Seas.
