An event dedicated to the memory of sailors and river workers who died during the Second World War took place at "Moryak" recreation center

On September 3, the Council of veterans of the navy and river fleet, together with the Ministry of transport of the Russian Federation, Rosmorrechflot and FSUE "Rosmorport", held an event at "Moryak" recreation center near Moscow, dedicated to the memory of sailors and river workers who died during the Second World War.

Chairman of the Council of veterans of the navy and river fleet and the public council of Rosmorrechflot Yuri Mikhailov, deputy director of the Department of state policy in the field of maritime and inland water transport of the Ministry of transport of the Russian Federation Irina Orinicheva, head of the administrative and legal department of Rosmorrechflot Alexander Levin, deputy General director of FSUE "Rosmorport" Sergey Simonov, veterans and cadets of the Academy of water transport of the Russian university of transport (MIIT) laid wreaths and flowers at the memorial. A festive concert was also held for the guests of the event.

The "Moryak" recreation center is an iconic place for everyone involved into maritime and river affairs. During Soviet times there was located a pioneer flotilla, thanks to which many people chose their future profession at a young age. Now it is a place where we recall important events in the history of our country related to the fleet. We plan to carry out a large-scale reconstruction of the recreation center and expect that this place will become even more important for all workers of the maritime and river industries", - said Sergey Simonov, deputy General director of FSUE "Rosmorport".
