In general, the cargo turnover in the seaports of Russia from the first quarter of 2021 decreased by 4.5% compared to the same period of the last year, or to 198.1 million tons. At the same time, transshipment of bulk cargo decreased by 13.6%, or to 102.8 million tons, mostly due to a drop in transshipment of oil (by 18.7%), petroleum products (by 7.3%) and liquefied gas (by 4.6%).

The cargo turnover for dry cargo increased by 7.9% compared to the results of the first three months of 2020, or to 95.3 million tons.

In the first quarter of 2021, the seaports of the Far Eastern (11.7%), Azov-Black Sea (10.8%) and Baltic (5.8%) basins showed an increase in dry cargo turnover. An increase in dry cargo turnover was recorded in the seaports of Vanino – 31.2%, Taman – 77%, Ust-Luga – 16.5%, Vladivostok – 36.9%, Azov – 55.8%, Nakhodka – 6.5%, Novorossiysk – 2.5%, Eysk – 29.5%, Kavkaz – 11.4%, Tuapse – 5%, Nevelsk – 21.1%, Vyborg – 59.9%, Taganrog – 9.2%, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky – 7.7%, Astrakhan – 2.6%, Kaliningrad – 0.4%, Olga – 1.1%.

The largest increase among dry cargoes was recorder in the field of coal and coke transshipment by 14.6%, ferrous metals – by 12.1%, grains – by 7.2%, cargo in containers – by 2.2%, chemical and mineral fertilizers – by 7%, sugar, refrigerated cargoes – by 16.2% (including fish and fish products for 28%), ores – by 3.1% and rolled cargoes (ro-ro) – by 8.8%.

The transshipment of export cargoes reached 158 million tons (-2.9%), inward cargoes – 9 million tons (+2.2%), transit cargoes – 15.7 million tons (-11.2%), coastal cargoes – 15.4 million tons (-15.1%).

In the first quarter of 2021, the services were provided to 1 447 passenger ships in seaports, an increase of 56.3% compared to the same period. Maritime passenger terminals served 866.5 thousand people. The main number of passengers was served at specialized passenger terminals in the seaports of Sevastopol – 821.3 thousand people, Yalta – 26.3 thousand people (+ 5.5%), Sochi – 13.2 thousand people (1.5 times growth).

The enterprise revenue on harbor dues for the first quarter of this year decreased by 3% or to 5,361 billion rubles, due to a decrease in the total volume indicators of serviced vessels by 5% or to 400.5 million GT, including due to overseas vessels (the share in the total volume is 85%) to 341.9 million GT (-5.2%) and inland ships to 58.6 million GT (-4.1%).

The decrease in volume indicators of serviced vessels abroad is mainly due to a decrease of vessel entries and, as a result, reduction of volumes of transfer of bulk cargoes (oil and oil products) in seaports Novorossiysk, Primorsk, Ust-Luga, Suburban, cargoes in containers in seaport Big Port St. Petersburg, rolling cargoes in seaport Kerch and also decrease in number of the vessels coming into the seaports Vostochny, Nakhodka, Vladivostok, and Kaliningrad for bunkering purposes.

The number of pilotages implemented by FSUE “Rosmorport” in the first quarter of 2021 decreased by 1% or to 37.2 thousand operations compared to the same period of 2020 due to a decrease in vessel calls amid the pandemic.
