The GMDSS operators of the Far Eastern Basin Branch of FSUE “Rosmorport” provided communication between the crew of the burning fishing vessel Vitim and the Vladivostok MRCC.

The fire on the vessel occurred in Peter the Great Bay 11 miles southwest of Askold Island. There was a crew consisting of 30 people aboard the vessel.

Yevgeny Chepurnoy, GMDSS duty operator of the Far Eastern Basin Branch of the enterprise in the seaport of Vladivostok, organized the operational processing and transfer of the distress signal received from the captain of the vessel Vitim to the Vladivostok MRCC. Thanks to this, measures to save the fishermen were taken in a timely manner.

The crew of the vessel Vitim was safely transported to the seaport of Vladivostok.
