The Kaptan Dranitsyn icebreaker (home port - Murmansk) strengthened the FSUE "Rosmorport" icebreaker group in the Gulf of Finland. On January 8, The Kapitan Dranitsyn arrived at the seaport Big Port Saint Petersburg, returning from a voyage to Antarctica, where it participated in the operation to deliver special personnel to the Vostok polar station.

The FSUE "Rosmorport" icebreaker group in the Gulf of Finland consists of 6 linear and 6 port icebreakers. The Kapitan Zarubin, the Ivan Kruzenshtern and the Kapitan Izmailov port icebreakers have already begun work.

The Kapitan Dranitsyn is a linear diesel icebreaker of the Kapitan Sorokin series. Named in honor of the polar explorer and captain of the Soviet Arctic fleet, German Vasilyevich Dranitsyn. In 2020 the Kaptian Dranitsyn icebreaker took part in the international project MOSAiC and delivered personnel, supplies and fuel from the port of Tromsø (Norway) to the Polarstern research icebreaker, embedded in the ice in the arctic high latitudes.

In addition to the seaports of the Gulf of Finland, the company's fleet already provides pilotage of vessels in the seaports of Magadan, Arkhangelsk, Astrakhan, Olya, Rostov-on-Don, Azov, Taganrog, on the approaches to the seaport of Eysk, as well as in the waters of the Volga-Caspian shipping and Saimaa channels.

In 2020, FSUE “Rosmorport” began to carry out piloting vessels through the ice from December 7. The icebreaking group of FSUE “Rosmorport” is the largest icebreaking group in the world. The enterprise fleet includes 36 icebreakers and icebreaker tugs of various capacities which provide pilotage services in 15 freezing Russian seaports.
