The Magadan icebreaker arrived at the seaport of the same name and began providing icebreaker assistance

The Magadan icebreaker of FSUE “Rosmorport” arrived at the Nagaev Bay of the seaport of Magadan and started providing icebreaker assistance. The icebreaker has already piloted three vessels: the Simushir vessel to the entrance, the Selenga vessel to the exit and the Vladimir Myasnikov vessel to the entrance to the seaport of Magadan.

The FSUE “Rosmorport” Magadan Branch provides icebreaker assistance services for vessels making entries to the seaport of Magadan. Usually the icebreaker assistance is carried out with the use of the Magadan icebreaker of the Far Eastern Basin Branch of FSUE “Rosmorport”.

The Magadan icebreaker is the one of three vessels of the same type in the series, which also includes The Mudyug and The Dixon icebreakers.

In addition to the seaport of Magadan, the icebreaking fleet of the enterprise already provides pilotage services in the seaports of Big Port Saint Petersburg, Arkhangelsk, Astrakhan, Olya, Rostov-on-Don, Azov, Taganrog, Vyborg, Vysotsk, on the approaches to Eysk, as well as in the water area of the Volga-Caspian Sea Shipping Canal and Saimaa Canal.

In 2020, FSUE “Rosmorport” began to carry out piloting vessels through the ice from December 7. The icebreaking group of FSUE “Rosmorport” is the largest icebreaking group in the world. The enterprise fleet includes 36 icebreakers and icebreaker tugs of various capacities which provide pilotage services in 15 freezing Russian seaports.
