FSUE “Rosmorport” congratulates Navy Museum on jubilee

The Navy Museum, the unique one in Russia, marked its 60th anniversary in downtown Moscow January 15, 2020.

The festive event held at the main hall of the institution amid the works of marine painters involved Russian Deputy Transport Minister Yuri Tsvetkov, acting Rosmorrechflot head Alexander Poshivay, the personnel of the institution, veterans of the maritime industry, as well as colleagues and friends of the museum.

FSUE “Rosmorport” was represented by Deputy General Director for Fleet Vasily Strugov, who read out a greetings message on behalf of General Director Andrey Lavrishchev. The management of the enterprise wished the museum prosperity and many years of the fruitful work and noted the importance of joint cooperation to popularize the fleet traditions of Russia as the great maritime power.

The exposition includes relics, documents, photos, models of ships and shipboard equipment, the uniform, awards, books, miniatures of port facilities and busts of famous naval commanders – all that reflects the centuries-old history of the Russian Navy. The unique museum collection has about 30.000 exhibits.

Over a number of years, the section on the development of the Navy has been enriched by enterprises of the industry, including by FSUE “Rosmorport”. Thus, last year thirteen major exhibits were given to the museum as a token gift. Among them are the maquettes of icebreakers, pilot’s and dredging vessels, a seagoing ferry, a motor railway ferry complex.
