“Rosmorport” takes over FSUE “Azov Directorate for Marine Communications”

March 2011 will see the completion of FSUE “Rosmorport” reorganization by the FSUE “Azov Directorate for Marine Communications” (“Azovmorput”) take-over.

The decision to affiliate the “Azovmorput” enterprise by “Rosmorport” was made by Dmitriy Medvedev in July 2010 for purposes of preservation and development of the marine transport organizations production possibilities.

The “Azovmorput” take-over became especially topical in connection with the expansion of the “Rosmorport” activity to the Azov-Don Sea Canal and seaports of Azov and Rostov-on-Don. The “Azovmorput” property transfer to “Rosmorport” will optimize dredging management and federal property (63 items) maintenance in Azov-Black Sea basin. Also it will decrease maintenance costs and cut navigation aids expenses substantially, which is directly connected with the navigation safety support in Black and Azov seas regions.

The reorganization will not lead to negative social consequences in the region. All of the FSUE “Azovmorput” employees have been already transferring to “FSUE” Rosmorport in accordance with the Russian Federation legislation.

The annual economic impact of the “Azovmorput” take-over will make up no less than 75 million rubles, according to “Rosmorport” preliminary estimates.
