50 years to Russian VTS

From 26th till 29th of October, 2010 at the FSUE “Rosmorport” Saint-Petersburg branch and State Marine Academy named after Admiral S.O. Makarov various events devoted to the Russian VTS 50 years jubilee were held.

Extended production conference was held with the participation of FSUE “Rosmorport” General director I.M. Rusu, heads of FSUE “Rosmorport” Navigation Support Department, The Greater Port Saint-Petersburg captain P.P. Parinov and captains of the Russian seaports of the Gulf of Finland.

Issues concerning day-to-day operation and efficiency improvement of VTS, as well as its development prospects and communication issues between VTS and port captain services were discussed at the conference.

“VTS. Current Conditions and Prospects” seminar was organized by FSUE “Rosmorport” and State Marine Academy named after Admiral S.O. Makarov with the support of Federal Agency for Marine and River Transport. Representatives of Federal Agency for Marine and River Transport, FSUE “Rosmorport”, FSUE “Morsvyazsputnik”, seaports administrations, Russian, Ukrainian and Baltic VTS, VTS equipment and software manufacturers and suppliers took part in the seminar.

At the seminar deputy chief of the FSUE “Rosmorport” Navigation Support Department, chief of Gulf of Finland Regional VTS, heads of new built and reconstructed VTS made their reports concerning the Russian VTS history, FSUE “Rosmorport” achievements in VTS construction and commissioning, as well as its development prospects.

The solemn ceremony was held at the end, where honored workers and veterans of VTS were awarded jubilee memory badges.
