The II Arctic Murmansk International Economic Forum took place in Murmansk from the 1st till 3rd of October, 2010. Session of Marine Board at the Government of the Russian Federation was also held at the same time in Murmansk under the chairmanship of the 1st vice-premier of Russia Segrey Ivanov.

FSUE “Rosmorport” General director I.M. Rusu took part in the “Severtrans” conference on the development of the northern seaports within the limits of the forum program as well as in the session of Marine Board at the Government of the Russian Federation.

The questions concerning the implementation process of the Principles of Russian Government Policy in the Arctic for the Period up to 2020 and Beyond and the “Murmansk Traffic Center Development” investment program, measures for marine transport development in Murmansk region were discussed at the session of Marine Board.

Necessary measures on Murmansk traffic center development including west coast of the Kola bay development, east coast reorientation for ecology safe cargoes, modernization of the passenger terminal in the seaport of Murmansk were defined as a result of the conference and session.

Besides, at the session of Marine Board at the Government of the Russian Federation Segrey Ivanov claimed the Governmental order on special port economic zone creation in Murmansk region will be issued soon, which fact will make the development of Murmansk transport center more active.
