On December, 25th, 2009 the Federal Law № 340-FZ “About Bringing Changes to the Federal Law “About Special Economic Zones of the Russian Federation” and to Certain Legislative Acts of the Russian Federation” was signed by the President of the Russian Federation.

According to the Federal Law № 340-FZ changes to the Federal Law dated 22.07.05 № 116-FZ “About Special Economic Zones of the Russian Federation” concerning, in particular, special economic zones in ports were made, Article 30 of the Land Code of the Russian Federation and Part 1 of article 11 of the federal law dated 21.12.04 № 172-FZ “About the Transferring of Lands from One Category to Others” were supplemented, changes were also brought to Item 11, part 3, article 3 of the Federal Law dated 17.05.07 “About Development Bank”; items 11 and 14, 29th and 43rd paragraphs of item 15, article 1 of the Federal Law dated 3.06.06 76-FZ “About Bringing Changes to Federal Law “About Special Economic Zones of the Russian Federation” were expired.

The Federal Law № 340-FZ “About Bringing Changes to Federal Law “About Special Economic Zones of the Russian Federation” and to Certain Legislative Acts of the Russian Federation” becomes operative from the date of its official publication.

Part 11 of article 6 of the Federal Law dated 22.07.05 № 116-FZ “About Special Economic Zones of the Russian Federation” remains operative before the 1st of January, 2015.
