The 14th concert season of the Far Eastern Basin Branch orchestra comes to an end

The 14th concert season of the orchestra of the FSUE “Rosmorport” Far Eastern Basin Branch and the Maritime State University named after admiral G.I. Nevelskoy has been successfully completed. From September 2022 to July 2023, the creative team offered the audience a record number of scheduled concerts and provided musical accompaniment to industry, regional and city events. Throughout the concert season, the orchestra team was a regular participant in the ceremonies of launching, naming and sending vessels for sea trials at the Zvezda shipbuilding complex in the city of Bolshoy Kamen.

At the beginning of September, during the Eastern Economic Forum, the team took part in the scheduled ceremony of the Parade of Sails festive event. Awards were presented to the participants and winners of the All-Russian Robotics Competitions accompanied by an orchestra.

The musicians of the orchestra accompanied the drill exercise of the Maritime university students, as well as sent off cadets undergoing sailing practice at the Nadezhda sailboat to voyages. On September 1, on the Day of first-years, for the first time in the open air, an evening concert was held on the parade ground in front of the Far Eastern Marine Training Center of the university. At the traditional cadet initiation ceremony, the orchestra performed a new parade-concert.

Every month the orchestra performed new concert programs, which attracted hundreds of spectators. In September, the opening of the season took place with the participation of vocalist Alexander Pstyga, who is popular in Primorye, in October, there was the premiere of the program “We are from the USSR” with the participation of soloists Alexander Pstyga, Dmitry Gorovoy and Raissa Bilim. In November, the band introduced a concert program dedicated to the great singer and composer Muslim Magomayev, and at the end of the month, a New Year's marathon of concerts started. The orchestra introduced a long-awaited program for children, playing musical compositions from favorite cartoons in a symphonic performance.

The December poster was opened by the loud premiere of Rock Hits 3. The rock theme continued in mid-December with a two-hour concert, held in one breath, without intermission, during which fans of Russian rock could listen to familiar melodies of famous bands.

On the eve of the New Year holidays, the orchestra team congratulated residents and guests of Vladivostok by performing the program “New Year Movie Hits”. The audience could listen to original adaptation of everyone’s favorite melodies from the golden collection of Soviet movies. Also in December, the orchestra introduced another program – musical illustrations for Alexander Pushkin's novel “Snowstorm” of composer Georgy Sviridov.

In February 2023, the premiere of Super Hits of the 90s took place - famous compositions were performed in unexpected adaptations. And on the eve of Defender of the Fatherland Day, the orchestra gave a concert named “My Motherland – My Russia”, presenting the premier of original works created by composers and writers from Primorye region and songs about the fleet. The Anthem of the All-Russian Fleet Support Movement was performed at the concert for the first time.

In March, the orchestra participated in greeting of the Captain Shchetinin container ship of the FESCO Group in Vladivostok. In the same month, the orchestra introduced a new program named “Journey to Jazz”, which allowed the orchestra's artists to prove themselves as talented soloists. In April, the premiere of the lyrical program “FELICITA” took place, where world hits were performed by vocalists Evgeny Mizin and Raissa Bilim accompanied by a variety orchestra. The audience enjoyed songs from the repertoire of Edith Piaf, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Andrea Bocelli and popular Italian pop songs of the Sanremo musical festival era. In May, the program “Songs of Victory”, dedicated to the 78th anniversary of the Great Victory of our people in the Great Patriotic War, gathered a full hall.

There were also a charity concert “Sail of Hope” for cadets and staff of the rehabilitation center for minors and a musical program on the Vladivostok embankment dedicated to the formation of the Pacific Fleet. At the Vladivostok International Airport, the orchestra performed a composition of the legendary Kino band, recording this musical project in a video clip.

This year, the orchestra team has joined the “Pushkin Map for Youth” national project - young people aged 14 to 22 years can purchase tickets to concerts of the orchestra using this card. Discounts are also provided to pensioners.

This season, for the first time, subscriptions were sold for the orchestra's concerts: viewers could buy a subscription for two concerts at once. The subscribtions were redeemed in the first week after they went on sale.

Employees, students, cadets and veterans of the Maritime university and the FSUE “Rosmorport” Far Eastern Branch, as well as military personnel who has participated in a special military operation, together with their relatives, are happy to visit all concert programs. The orchestra team takes part in the collection of humanitarian aid for the participants of the special military operation.

The orchestra actively develops touring activities on the territory of the Far Eastern Federal District, honorably representing the maritime industry of our country. During the past concert season, the band visited Nakhodka and Ussuriysk with concerts. The Far Eastern Tour takes a special and significant page in the life of the orchestra. During the six days of the tour, the musicians played six concerts in Blagoveshchensk, Khabarovsk, the seaports of Vanino and Sovetskaya Gavan, which were visited by almost four thousand spectators. The band plans to hold annual concerts in the Far Eastern Federal District and beyond. New tours to Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk and Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky are already being planned.

The next concert season will open in September 2023. Currently, preparations are underway for a new large concert program in honor of the 15th anniversary of the orchestra, which will be presented on October 8 this year.
