The Far Eastern Basin Branch takes part in the marine clean-up and the All-Russian campaign “Water of Russia”

On June 2, 2023, on the eve of World Environmental Protection Day, the FSUE “Rosmorport” Far Eastern Basin Branch took part in a marine cleaning day organized by the Far Eastern Interregional Department of Rosprirodnadzor, and in the All-Russian campaign "Water of Russia", held under the aegis of the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia.

As part of the cleaning day, the water area of the Vladivostok seaport was cleared of floating debris. To collect pollution from the water area, specialized vessels of the Branch were involved – marine oil garbage collectors. In addition to collecting floating garbage in the areas adjacent to the berths of FSUE “Rosmorport”, they also carried out work at the request of other water users. In total, about 3 cub. m of floating debris were collected from the water surface.

As part of the All-Russian campaign “Water of Russia”, employees of the environmental safety service of the Branch cleaned the coastal zone of the sandy beach of Cape Pospelov on Russky Island, which is directly adjacent to the border of berth No. 6, which is under the economic jurisdiction of FSUE “Rosmorport” and the operational management of the Far Eastern Basin Branch. In total, about 6 cub. m of waste were collected and sent to burial – mainly plastic, polyethylene, polypropylene, fishing gear and ship rigging. At the moment, such waste is not processed in the Primorsky Territory, but is sent to the landfill for disposal.
