The Far Eastern Basin Branch orchestra performs a festive program dedicated to the Defender of the Fatherland Day

On February 19, on the eve of Defender of the Fatherland Day, the concert “My Fatherland is My Russia” was held by the light music orchestra of the FSUE “Rosmorport” Far Eastern Basin Branch and the Maritime State University named after Admiral G.I. Nevelskoy (Artistic Director and Orchestra Conductor Anatoly Yakimenko) in Vladivostok.

The festive program, organized in the concert hall of the Maritime State University named after Admiral G.I. Nevelskoy, was opened by an overture from the movie “Two Captains”. The backdrop for the composition was a fragment of the Victory Day Parade on Red Square in Moscow.

The concert was continued by the “Military March” by composer Georgy Sviridov from musical illustrations to the “Blizzard” by A.S. Pushkin and the melody by composer Eduard Artemyev from the adventure film “Friend to Foes, Foe to Friends”, where the trumpet solo was brilliantly performed by Andrey Pashinin.

Musical compositions created in Vladivostok were greeted particularly warmly. For example, the waltz “Amur Waves” by the composer and conductor Max Kyuss, beloved by many generations of Russians, was composed there.

The concert program included several opuses based on poems by Vladimir Tytskikh, a retired captain of the second rank, a marine writer, an honored culture professional of the Russian Federation, with whom the orchestra has friendly relations for many years. In particular, the hymn “Song dedicated to the All-Russian Fleet Support Movement” by composer Timur Saitbatalov, rendered by Evgeny Mizin, was performed for the first time. There was also a popular composition based on the words of Vladimir Mikhailovich “The St. Andrew's Flag”, the music for which was composed by Anatoly Kalekin.

In 1982, the final stage of the “Trip to places of military, labor and revolutionary glory”, organized by the Komsomol regional committee, took place on a large amphibious vessel. The participants of the trip, university and high school students, went along the coast of Primorye with disembarkation at ports where concerts and meetings with the people took place. Komsomol leaders – Vitaly Khripchenko, the future regional Minister of Culture and the head of the Russian Ministry of Culture Department, and Oleg Melnikov, the future police colonel, Cossack ataman and Vice-governor, said: “We need a song!”. Vladimir Tytskikh's verses were made up overnight, and the music was written almost instantly by Viktor Plotkin. “The Song of a Short Trip” was first performed on board the ship, while at the concert it was rendered by Raisa Bilim with еру guitar accompaniment of Andrey Solonko.

During the concert, the soloists of the ensemble “Young Patriot of the Motherland” sang the “Hymn to the St. Andrew's Flag”, created by employees of the State Educational Institution “The First Moscow Cadet Corps” “Navigation School”. There were also songs “There is Only a Moment” and “You Hear the Sea” by composer Aleksandr Zatsepin, melodies from war films “The Dawns Here Are Quiet” and “The Officers”, and a marching song “To Serve Russia”.
