Light music orchestra of the Far Eastern Basin Branch opens a new concert season
On January 15, a new concert season 2023 was opened by the Light music orchestra of the Far Eastern Basin Branch of FSUE “Rosmorport” and Maritime State University named after admiral G.I. Nevelskoy (Artistic Director and Orchestra Conductor Anatoly Yakimenko) in the concert hall of the Maritime State University named after admiral G.I. Nevelskoy with the performance of musical illustrations by composer Georgy Sviridov to the story of A.S. Pushkin “Snowstorm”.
The host of the concert, musicologist Irina Volobueva, gave a brief outline of the creation of the “Snowstorm” suite: Georgy Sviridov wrote the music specifically for the film based on the famous story wrote by A.S. Pushkin at the request of actor and movie director Vladimir Basov, who shot the film.
Both word and music play an important role in the concert. The story was read by the People's Artist of the Russian Federation Vladimir Sergiyakov, who is well known and loved by the Primorsky audience.
Complex elements of the score for the symphony orchestra, written by the composer, was successfully arranged for the brass orchestra in such beloved works as “Troika”, “Waltz”, “Pastoral”, “Military March”, “Wedding”, “Winter Road”. And only “Romance” was performed with the involvement of the violin solo, performed by Natalia Korshikova.In the second part, the light music orchestra presented popular classical works, opened it with Evgeny Ptichkin's overture to the movie “Two Captains”. Everyone's favorite “Neapolitan Dance” from the ballet “Swan Lake” by P. Tchaikovsky (trumpet solo performed by Andrey Pashinin), “Slavic Dance No. 8” by A. Dvorak, “Oblivion” by A. Piazzolla (clarinet solo – Otabek Rasulov), waltz from the movie “My Sweet and Tender Beast” by E. Dogi, “Saber Dance” by A. Khachaturian, “Chardash” by V. Monti (clarinet solo – Otabek Rasulov) were performed perfectly. The concert ended with the incendiary “Radetzky March” by J. Strauss.
