The Far Eastern Basin Branch takes part in the ceremony of transferring memorial wreaths to cadets of sailing training vessels

Evgeny Pankratov, Director of the Far Eastern Basin Branch of FSUE “Rosmorport”, took part in the ceremony dedicated to the handover of memorial wreaths intended for putting in the Tsushima Strait of the Sea of Japan during the sea passage of sailboats to the cadets of Maritime State University named after admiral G.I. Nevelskoy, currently undergoing training practice at the sailing training ship Nadezhda, and the cadets of the sailboat Pallada.

The ceremony accompanied by the orchestra of the Far Eastern Basin Branch, took place on November 1, 2022 at Pier No.30 in the Seaport of Vladivostok at the memorial sign in honor of the sailors who died in the Battle of Tsushima in 1905.

The memorial sign was opened in September 2021, and since then the ceremony of transferring memorial wreath to the cadets of Nadezhda and Pallada sailing training ships is held before going to the Sea of Japan and has become a good tradition.

The event was attended by representatives of the Vladivostok City Duma, the Primorsky Krai Veterans Council, the public organization “Union of Submariners of the Pacific Fleet”, the Far Eastern Association of Sea Captains, the Maritime State University named after admiral G.I. Nevelskoy, the Far Eastern State Technical Fisheries University and the Russian Geographical Society.

The participants of the event observed a moment of silence in memory of the sailors who died in the Russian-Japanese War and laid flowers at the memorial sign.

At the end of the ceremony, guests of honor shook hands with the cadets and wished them a successful swimming practice, fair winds and following seas.
