The Far Eastern Basin Branch has completed the overhaul of the drainage networks of berth No. 24 in the seaport of Nakhodka

In June 2022, the Eastern Department of the Far Eastern Basin Branch of FSUE “Rosmorport” completed construction, installation and commissioning works on the overhaul of engineering networks for drainage and surface wastewater treatment of the berth No. 24 facility in the seaport of Nakhodka.

These works were carried out in connection with the physical wear of existing drainage networks, as well as in order to comply with the applicable standards for the permissible discharge of substances and microorganisms into water bodies.

Repair work was carried out at the expense of the company's own funds within the period from March to June 2022.

In the course of the work, the installation of reinforced concrete drainage trays of rectangular cross-section, covered with a metal grate, with a sand pit and a separation chamber of contaminated and conditionally clean effluents was carried out. A reinforced concrete well with a combined loading filter cartridge filled with polyester fiber and carbon sorbent was installed, where the water flow is cleaned of mechanical impurities, films of petroleum products, and synthetic surfactants.

For deeper treatment of wastewater discharged into a water body and the most accurate and convenient accounting of rainwater consumption, modern treatment equipment has been installed. In particular, a modular UV disinfection unit with the efficiency of 99.9% has been installed. In addition, an ultrasonic flow meter is provided in front of the separation chamber, with a digital measuring unit and an acoustic system for automatic non-contact measurement of volume and liquid level.

The implementation of this project will allow the operation of berth No. 24 without having a negative impact on the environment and providing favorable living conditions for aquatic biological resources.
