Employees of the Far Eastern Basin Branch take part in the celebration of Victory Day

As part of the celebration of the 77th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945, employees of the FSUE “Rosmorport” Far Eastern Basin Branch took part in events on May 8–9.

On the eve of the holiday, on May 8, a concert of the pop orchestra of the FSUE “Rosmorport” Far Eastern Basin Branch and the Maritime State University named after admiral G.I. Nevelskoy dedicated to Victory Day took place. Audience that included people of all ages could listen to the program “Songs of Victory” consisting of war and post-war melodies dear to every heart. There were veterans of the Great Patriotic War, home front workers and war children in the hall.

In Vladivostok, on May 9, the staff of the Far Eastern Basin Branch, to music of the branch’s orchestra, laid flowers at the monument to Merchant Fleet Sailors who died during the Great Patriotic War. The ceremony was also attended by representatives of the city administration, the Federal State Budgetary Institution “Administration of Seaports of Primorsky Krai and the Eastern Arctic”, employees of shipping companies, veterans of the merchant fleet, members of public and patriotic organizations, the administration and cadets of the Maritime State University named after admiral G.I. Nevelskoy, cabin boys of naval flotillas. The participants of the event honored the memory of the heroes with a minute’s silence and laid flowers at the Eternal Flame at the foot of the monument.

In the village of Olga, during solemn events, employees of the Olga branch of the Far Eastern Basin Branch laid wreaths and flowers at the monument to fellow villagers who went to the front from the village of Olga.

A solemn construction was held and thematic events with the participation of cadets were organized on the Professor Khlyustin training and production vessel, which is now in the roads of the seaport of Vladivostok.

At noon on May 9, the vessels of the branch — the Nadezhda sailing training vessel, the Kapitan Khlebnikov icebreaker and the Professor Khlyustin training and production vessel - took part in The Victory Whistle campaign. All the vessels in honor of Victory Day were decorated with dressing flags, and the Nadezhda sailing training vessel had festive lighting turned on in the evening to the delight of guests and residents of the town.

The festive events dedicated to Victory Day in Vladivostok ended with a grand evening concert of the pop orchestra of the FSUE “Rosmorport” Far Eastern Basin Branch and the Maritime State University named after admiral G.I. Nevelskoy in the central square of Vladivostok, where more than 4 thousand residents and guests of Vladivostok and Primorsky Region gathered.
