Far Eastern Basin Branch takes part in “The Water of Russia” action

On April 28, 2018 employees of the Far Eastern Basin Branch took part in an annual action “The Water of Russia” aimed at cleaning up shore lines of small rivers and water reservoirs. The action started on April 1, 2018.

The action, which has been held since 2014, unites hundreds of thousands of volunteers throughout the country to clean up shore lines of water reservoirs.

Among priority goals of the action are to develop the sense of responsibility in citizens and organizations for the nature of the country as the part of national natural wealth of the country by improving the state of water facilities on the territory of the Russian Federation, identifying rivers and water reservoirs asking for deliberate attention in order to study and work out urgent environmental measures for their rehabilitation.

Employees of the branch cleaned up an area of the seashore of the Peter the Great Gulf near Cape Pospelov on the Russky Island. Totally they gathered up and disposed of over five cubic meters of household and construction waste.

The cleaned-up territory has been taken under control of the branch in order to quickly identify and dispose of rubbish of the seashore in the future.
