Navigation ends in the country’s northernmost seaport

Under Order No 3/17 of December 4, 2017 issued by acting captain of the seaport of Pevek, the 2017 navigation has ended since December 5.

From July to December 2017 I Category Pilot of the FSUE “Rosmorport” Far Eastern Basin Branch Eastern Directorate Vladimir Redler performed pilotage of vessels in the seaport of Pevek.

The conditions of pilotage in the seaport of Pevek are rather complex. In 2017 the reconstruction works in the seaport continued. Because of that it was necessary to maintain tightened safety measures during mooring operations. Moreover, the seaport has only one tugboat for maneuvering of vessels. That considerably complicated pilotage of vessels amidst constant ice motion, strong wind load and the current direction changes in the Chaun Bay.

Amid the difficult weather conditions of functioning of the seaport of Pevek Vladimir Redler who was the only pilot of the seaport had successfully carried out over 260 pilotage operations by ensuring safe navigation in the seaport of Pevek and its uninterrupted work.
