Excursion to Vladivostok Vessel Tracking Management Center

On July 24, 2017 at the request of the All-Russian Public Organization Russian Geographical Society – Society for the Study of the Amur Region of Primorsky Territory Department, the Far Eastern Basin Branch organized an excursion to the Vladivostok vessel tracking management center for local history experts of the Society.

Deputy head of the Vladivostok VTMS Service Nikolay Vishnevskiy told the participants in the excursion about the functions, the purpose and particularities of the work of the vessel tracking management system, navigation safety in the water areas of the seaports of Primorsky Territory and on the approaches toward them and answered questions of issues exercising the guests.

The participants in the excursion visited the core of the center – the control room where they could watch and study the work of operators, who keep the round-the-clock watch over the water area, equipment and monitor navigation safety.

When departing the guests thanked Nikolai Vishnevsky for warm reception, educational conversation and an interesting excursion.
