Magadan Icebreaker Heads for the seaport of Magadan

On January 28, 2017, Magadan icebreaker of the Far Eastern Basin Branch left the port of registry of Vladivostok and headed for the seaport of Magadan.

The icebreaker will replace the icebreaker Kapitan Khlebnikov, which in the period from December 2016 to January 2017 performed icebreaker support in the seaport of Magadan and its approaches in the waters of the Sea of ​​Okhotsk.

The arrival of Magadan icebreaker in the seaport is expected on February 2, after which it will immediately get to providing icebreaker assistance to vessels, which will extend approximately until mid-May 2017, with clarification on the actual ice conditions.

The icebreaker Kapitan Khlebnikov, in turn, will head for the seaport of Prigorodnoye, where it will provide icebreaking support to oil tankers and gas carriers, as well as ensure their mooring in ice conditions to the oil-loading terminal and loading terminal of condensed natural gas.
