Alexander Deyev new ferry arrives at the seaport of Vanino

Viktor Yemets, a pilot of the FSUE “Rosmorport” North-Eastern Basin Branch, performed pilotage of a new passenger-and-freight automobile and railway ferry named Alexander Deyev in the seaport of Vanino. The vessel arrived at the seaport on September 2, 2023, having made its first voyage on the Vanino–Kholmsk line.

With the help of two port tugs, the ferry was deployed on the inner roadstead of Vanina Bay and moored to berth No. 14a of the ferry complex. The docking of the vessel with the span structure of the linkspan bridge of the ferry complex was fine.

A day earlier the ferry arrived at the seaport of Kholmsk, where it was solemnly welcomed by Valery Limarenko, Governor of the Sakhalin Region, Maksim Zhogolev, Deputy Minister of Transport and Roads of the Sakhalin Region, Head of Marine and Railway Transport Department, representatives of the FSUE “Rosmorport” Sakhalin Branch, representatives of FSBI “The Administration of maritime ports of Sakhalin, Kuriles and Kamchatka”, employees of stevedoring and transportation companies operating in the seaport.

The Alexander Deyev ferry was built specifically to operate on the Vanino-Kholmsk line, which is a strategically important link between the Khabarovsk Territory and the Sakhalin Region.

The new vessel was met in the seaport of Vanino in a solemn atmosphere. The crew and the first passengers were welcomed by Irina Gorbacheva, Minister of Transport and Roads of Khabarovsk Territory, Sergey Nagornyak, Head of Vanino Municipal District of Khabarovsk Krai, Elena Bulanova, Director of the FSUE “Rosmorport” North-Eastern Basin Branch, and Evgeny Dmitrakov, General Director of Port Vanino JSC.

The passenger-and-freight automobile and railway ferry Alexander Deyev of the CNF11CPD 00300 project is a lead vessel of a series of two vessels built by order of GTLK JSC at the Amur Shipyard.

The Alexander Deyev ferry is a vessel of Arc5 reinforced ice class with the capacity of breaking ice up to 1 meter thick and operating at free air temperature up to -40 degrees Celsius.

The ferry has a length of 131 m, a width of 22 m, a draft in cargo of 6.6 m.

The vessel has two cargo decks designed to transport at least 30 railway cars and 12 car trains on the main deck, 9 passenger cars on the lower deck. Inside the ferry, there is a special cargo elevator for moving transport between decks. The passenger capacity of the ferry is up to 200 people.
