Icebreaker support of vessels starts in the seaport of Vanino and on the approaches toward it in the Tatar Strait

Pursuant to Resolution No 484/A of December 14, 2017 issued by the captain of the seaport of Vanino, since December 28, 2017 icebreaker support of vessels has started in the water area of the seaport of Vanino and on the approaches toward it during the 2017-2018 winter navigation. The restrictions on ice navigation in the seaport has been established for vessels.

The Kapitan Khlebnikov of the FSUE “Rosmorport” Far Eastern Basin Branch has arrived in the seaport of Vanino to provide icebreaker support for vessels. The vessel is technically sound and manned with qualified crew members. The icebreaker’s key particulars fully correspond to the working conditions of the winter navigation in the north of the Sea of Japan.

The Kapitan Khlebnikov icebreaker with the capacity of 17 MW will be temporarily used by the Vanino Branch to render icebreaker support services for vessels’ convoys moving to the seaport of Vanino and back before the Krasin icebreaker arrives at the seaport of Vanino.

The Khasanets towboat of the Vanino Branch and the Spasatel Kavdeikin of Rosmorrechflot’s Marine Rescue Service are permanently ready to be involved in icebreaker support for vessels when necessary in the seaport of Vanino.
