Director of the North-Western Basin Branch participates in the initiation ceremony for cadets of Admiral Makarov State University of Maritime and Inland Shipping
On September 28, 2024, Alexander Strelnikov, Director of the FSUE “Rosmorport” North-Western Basin Branch, took part in the initiation ceremony for cadets of the Admiral Makarov State University of Maritime and Inland Shipping which took place on the Palace Square in St. Petersburg.
The solemn event was attended by Alexander Poshivai, a graduate of this educational institution, now Deputy Minister of Transport of Russia, Sergey Baryshnikov, Rector of the Admiral Makarov State University of Maritime and Inland Shipping, Sergey Iryutin, Chairman of the Maritime Assembly of St. Petersburg, representatives of the Government of St. Petersburg, industry maritime organizations, captains of the seaports of the Baltic Sea.
During the ceremony, the National Flag of Russia, as well as the official flags of St. Petersburg and the university, were solemnly brought to the square.
Over 500 trainees of the Maritime Academy Institute and students of the Admiral Makarov State University of Maritime and Inland Shipping College became new cadets and took a solemn oath of allegiance to the university and the navy in their chosen profession.
Traditionally, within the solemn event, the best senior students were awarded Admiral Makarov State University of Maritime and Inland Shipping medals “For diligence”, 2nd class.
The initiation ceremony ended with the performance of the university anthem and the solemn passage of cadet columns along the Palace Square of St. Petersburg.
