The team of the Kaliningrad Department of the FSUE “Rosmorport” North-Western Basin Branch took part in the traditional rowing regatta, Milya Vityazya, among amateur teams. The competitions were held on August 24, 2024 on the Pregolya river in Kaliningrad as a part of the Water Assembly annual marine festival, organized by the Museum of the World Ocean.

The rowing regatta was dedicated to the 34th anniversary of the Museum of the World Ocean, and also to the 30th anniversary of the mooring of the Vityaz research vessel at the museum berth in Kaliningrad.

Seven teams of personnel of the city enterprises and institutions took part on the competitions: team of the Central Office of the Government of the Kaliningrad Region, the City Administration of Kaliningrad, the Kaliningrad Branch of Sberbank, the Russian Ministry for Emergency Situations in the Kaliningrad Region, the FSUE “Rosmorport” North-Western Basin Branch, the North-Western Branch of the Shirshov Institute of Oceanology of Russian Academy of Sciences, JSC “Paltic Shipbuilding Plant “Yantar”.

The race was held on YAL-6 class sea boats at a distance of 750 m. The crew of each boat consisted of six rowers and onehelmsman.

According to the results of the competitions, the team of the Kaliningrad Department of the North-Western Basin Branch took second place, losing to the team of the Central Office of the Government of the Kaliningrad Region by 1.5 seconds in a tough fight. The team of the Russian Ministry for Emergency Situations in the Kaliningrad Region took third place.

At the end of the regatta, an award ceremony was held. The award were presented to the participants by Nadezhda Kalashnik, Deputy Director for Economics and Finances of the FSUE “Rosmorport” North-Western Basin Branch, and Andrey Moshkov, Deputy Director of the FSUE “Rosmorport” North-Western Basin Branch – the Kaliningrad Department Chief. Each participant of the competitions received a commemorative medal with the symbols of the regatta.
