Kaliningrad Sea Area A2 GMDSS coast station successfully undergoes regular examination

According to the results of the examination carried out by Rosmorrechflot, FSUE "Rosmorport" received a certificate No. 23.00100.121 dated 11.04.2023 on the compliance of the Kaliningrad coast station of the sea area A2 GMDSS with the requirements of IMO Resolution No. A.801(19) and the Order of the Ministry of Transport of Russia No. 226 dated 23.07.2015 for use in GMDSS.

The Kaliningrad coastal station of the sea area A2 GMDSS was put into operation in May, 2000.

In December 2017, the coastal station was transferred to the economic management of FSUE "Rosmorport" and assigned to the North-Western Basin Branch.

The structure of the Kaliningrad coast station of the Sea Area A2 GMDSS includes a communications control center combined with a receiving radio station located in the Bolshoe Isakovo village, Guryevsky city district, Kaliningrad region, and a transmitting radio station located in the Krasnoe village, Guryevsky city district, Kaliningrad region.

The operational range of the coast station is 125 nautical miles.

With the help of the Kaliningrad coast station of the Sea Area A2 GMDSS, continuous monitoring and radio exchange is carried out on the GMDSS disaster frequencies in the medium frequency range, operational communication between vessels and the maritime rescue coordination center in the seaport of Kaliningrad for organizing rescue operations, as well as automatic procedures for handling distress, urgency and safety calls.
