The North-Western Basin Branch conducts a civil defense facility-based training

On June 6 and 7, 2023, a civil defense facility-based training was conducted at FSUE “Rosmorport” North-Western Basin Branch in St. Petersburg, as well as at the Vyborg-Vysotsk, Kaliningrad and Ust-Luga departments of the North-Western Basin Branch, in cooperation with the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia.

On June 6, at the 9th berth of the 1st district of the seaport Big Port of Saint Petersburg in the Gutuevsky boot basin area, there was a training on crew's actions to extinguish a conditional fire on the Kapitan Kosolapov icebreaker in cooperation with the Federal Fire Service of the State Fire Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia Department in St. Petersburg.

Upon the drill fire alarm, the icebreaker crew carried out measures to localize and eliminate the fire. According to the plan of the exercise, the team of the 19th fire and rescue unit of the Kirovsky district of St. Petersburg was involved in extinguishing the fire. Through the joint efforts of the crew members and еру Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia employees, the fire hazard was eliminated.

As a result of the exercises, the clear and timely actions of the crew and its interaction with the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia forces were positively assessed. The training objectives were achieved.

On June 7, the following actions were practiced in the Vyborg-Vysotsk, Kaliningrad and Ust-Luga departments, as well as in St. Petersburg: management personnel were warned and arrived at their working places, employees were evacuated from office buildings when fire alarm sounded, personal protective equipment distribution posts were deployed, demonstration trainings on using primary fire extinguishing equipment were held, and power supply system switched to backup supply sources. In the office of the branch in St. Petersburg, there was also a training on how employees should behave in case of an air alert, including following in a protective structures of civil defense - a shelter.

Continuous interaction between the exercise headquarters and the branch departments, as well as between structural units and third-party organizations was worked out during the training.

The tasks of the facility-based civil defense training were fulfilled, the training objectives were achieved. The actions of officials were positively assessed by Alexander Strelnikov, Director of the North-Western Basin Branch.
